Dr. Kalipso Karantinou is Associate Professor of Marketing at the Department of Marketing and Communication in the School of Business of the Athens University of Economics and Business. She holds a PhD and an MSc in Marketing from UMIST/University of Manchester; a postgraduate degree in Academic Practice from the University of Manchester; and a first class honors degree in Communications and Mass Media from the National University of Athens. Prior to joining the Athens University of Economics and Business, Dr. Karantinou was Lecturer in Marketing at UMIST/University of Manchester (2001-2005) and Associate Professor of Marketing at the Graduate School of the American College of Greece (2005-2008).

Dr. Karantinou teaches undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students and has won academic excellence awards for her undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

Her research expertise lies in the areas of services marketing, professional services, tourism, customer relationship management, servicescapes, consumer behavior and the impact of austerity, and new product development. Her published work amounts to 39 publications in academic journals and academic conferences, as well as contributions to books and edited volumes. Dr. Karantinou is the elected representative of Greece to the European Marketing Academy (EMAC) Executive Committee.
