Athanasia (Nancy) Pouloudi is Professor in Information Systems Management in the Department of Management Science and Technology at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), Greece. She holds a first degree in Informatics (AUEB, Greece), and an MSc and PhD in Information Systems (both from the London School of Economics, UK). Her studies were supported by a scholarship by the Greek State Scholarship Foundation.
Her academic career started as a Lecturer at Brunel University, UK (1997-2001). In 2001 she was appointed Assistant Professor at the Athens University of Economics and Business and in 2006 Associate Professor.
She has published more than a hundred papers in academic journals and international conferences. She is a member of the Editorial Boards of the Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Information & Management, IT for Development, Health Policy & Technology, and the International Journal of Society, Information, Communication and Ethics. In the past she has served on the Editorial Boards of the European Journal of Information Systems as Senior Associate Editor and IT & People as Associate Editor. She regularly serves on the Board of the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS) and the Executive Committee of the Mediterranean Conference on Information Systems (MCIS). In the period 2010-2013 she was Region 2 (Europe/Middle East/Africa) Representative of the Association for Information Systems (AIS). She has served as principal investigator and researcher in research projects in e-business and e-government for the Research Center of AUEB. She is presently the director of the Management of Information Systems and Technologies research laboratory (ISTLab).
Her current research focuses on organizational and social issues in information systems adoption, implementation and management. In 2016 she received the Sandra Slaughter Service Award of the Association for Information Systems (AIS).
