Executive ΜΒΑ students compete in the global Business Strategy Game and excel

As an integral part of the Strategy course taught by Professor Vassilis Papadakis, AUEB Executive MBA students are offered the chance to test the knowledge, skills and expertise acquired in various courses, by participating in the Business Strategy Game, the most popular strategy game globally.

Students are divided into groups. Each group undertakes the management of a simulated company. Teams compete for a series of years and a final winner emerges. In December 2022 the winner among the Executive MBA teams was a company named “DeusXMachina”.

The winning team was then invited in Spring 2023 to participate in an international competition, where they had to compete against 10 other winning teams from various Universities and Business schools from all over the world, namely George Mason University (USA), University of South Carolina (USA), Universidad de Lima (Peru), Trinity Western University (Canada), and others.

“DeusXMachina” senior managers Konstantinos Theofilogiannakos, Ioannis Kaflagiannis, Orestis Polychronakis and Giouli Terzi once more, excelled in the competition, by ranking 1st with the perfect score 110/110!

Reacreditation of Executive MBA by the Association of MBAs (ΑΜΒΑ)

The Executive MBA of the Athens University of Economics & Business was re-accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), the international independent authority for MBA, DBA and Master’s in Management education. Following an extensive evaluation process conducted in December 2020, the Executive MBA received renewed accreditation, confirming that curriculum, quality of teaching, level of teaching and research staff, as well as all other services offered to the students of both Programs meet the highest standards set by AMBA. The assessment also considered the views of students, graduates and employers. 

For the students of the Program, the AMBA accreditation ensures international recognition of their degree and confirms that their investment results in a top-quality educational qualification. For companies that seek to hire talented and high-potential executives, it ensures the highest quality of the graduates of the Program. According to the valid Eduniversal ranking list announced on July 16, 2019, the Executive MBA of the Athens University of Economics and Business was ranked again in the 30th Position among the best Executive MBAs in Western Europe, rated with 4 stars (4*). 

Higher in the ranking are found emblematic Business Schools, such as the University of Oxford, Said Business School, (27th place), University of Cambridge, Judge School of Business (23rd place). The Executive MBA is positioned higher on the ranking list than other acclaimed Executive MBA programs offered by the top Business Schools such as Imperial College (32nd place), Cranfield University (37th place), Lancaster University Management School (47th place), Frankfurt School of Finance and Management (36th place ) etc. 

The Executive MBA aspires to maintain and improve its position among the programs addressed to executives and to offer high quality and internationally recognized postgraduate degrees in Greece.

 

Association of MBAs

The Executive MBA program of AUEB was accredited for the first time in its history by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), the international impartial authority on postgraduate business education.

Following a thorough assessment that took place in November 2015, the Executive MBA was accredited against rigorous criteria, that ensure that the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction are met by the program.

The assessment also took into account the input from a number of stakeholders (including school staff, students, graduates and key employers).
