Family Business event
Why do only one in ten family businesses reach the third generation? The Executive MBA of AUEB organized an event in which keynote speakers UCLAN professor and Fellow at Cambridge University Mr. Pannikos Poutziouris and Mr. Nikolas Loumidis (member of the 3rd generation of the well-known Greek family business) discussed the problems typically faced by family businesses but also the families associated with them.
Factors influencing the survival and development of family businesses were discussed and advice was given on how they can create governance structures and strategies to support the smooth succession of generations and ultimately, their survival. The presentation was attended mainly by graduates of the Executive MBA who were themselves owners of family businesses as well as members of the Loumidis family.
The presentation’s moderators were the Director of the Executive MBA Professor Mr. Papadakis and the Assistant Professor Mrs. Karantinou.
