Executive MBA, Discussion/ Speech Event on Family Businesses

Why do only one in ten family businesses reach the third generation of succession? In a talk organized by the Executive MBA of the Athens University of Economics and Business, with keynote speakers Professor Pannikos Poutziouris (UCLAN and Fellow at Cambridge University) and Mr. Nikolas Loumidis (3rd-generation member of the family business), the challenges faced by family businesses and the families connected to them were discussed.

The discussion covered the factors that influence the survival and growth of family businesses and offered advice on how to create governance structures and strategies that support smooth generational succession and ensure long-term sustainability.

The presentation was primarily attended by Executive MBA alumni who are owners of family businesses, as well as members of the Loumidis family.

The Executive MBA Director, Professor Vassilis Papadakis, and Assistant Professor Ms. Karantinou coordinated the session.
